The Orquevaux Paintings

In the autumn of 2018 I was awarded a month-long artist residency at the Chateau d’Orquevaux in Champagne-Ardenne, France. My studio was in the former stables of the beautifully charming Chateau built in the 1700’s, overlooking the village of Orquevaux from atop a hill, surrounded an achingly beautiful landscape. It was an incredibly soul-nourishing time allowing a deep, uninterrupted and sustained focus on my ongoing project of exploring the visual, cognitive and spiritual connections between Eastern and Western approaches to abstraction.
